A edição do Domingo Espetacular, programa da Record, desta semana vai prestar uma homenagem ao jornalista Paulo Henrique Amorim, morto anteontem em sua casa, no Rio de Janeiro aos 76 anos. O jornalista apresentava o dominical desde 2006 e foi afastado em junho passado. De acordo com a emissora, a homenagem será feita em forma de grande reportagem que vai mostrar sua vida e carreira, com destaque para alguns dos grandes momentos do jornalista em sua profissão. Amigos de Amorim, como Mino Carta, e colegas de trabalho, como a apresentadora do Hoje em Dia, Renata Alves, foram entrevistados para falar sobre o jornalista.
A irmã do jornalista, Marília, que mora na França, veio ao Brasil para o velório de Amorim. Ela falou sobre o afastamento e disse que o apresentador já havia perdido outros espaços na mídia por conta de “pressão política”. “Falamos pouco porque estava na França. Ele teve vários casos de perder o lugar dele por pressão política. Ele escreveu pra mim e falou: ‘Não se preocupe, você sabe que eu tive isso várias vezes e que eu aguento o tranco'”, disse ela, que citou outros casos em que o apresentador teria sido afastado de suas funções supostamente por críticas a políticos. “Me lembro que na Band ele tinha acabado de receber dois prêmios por dois programas [que apresentava].
