A Prefeitura de Coari divulgou nota na manhã desta quinta-feira, dia 26, para afirmar que o prefeito Adail Filho (Progressistas) prestará informações à Justiça sobre as acusações feitas à sua gestão e que resultaram na operação Patrinus, do Gaeco (Grupo de Atuação Especial de Combate ao Crime Organizado), do Ministério Público do Amazonas (MP-AM), realizada hoje.
O prefeito é uma das quatro pessoas com mandado de prisão temporária que o Gaeco cumpre nesta quinta. Às 11h30 o BNC Amazonas era informado de sua apresentação ao MP.
De acordo com o MP, os demais alvos de prisão são o presidente da Câmara Municipal de Coari, Keiton Batista, primo de Adail Filho; Alexsuel Rodrigues, sócio da empresa AMS Rodrigues, dona dos supermercados Rodrigues; e o sargento da Polícia Militar Fernando Lima.
A nota assegura que “as acusações de favorecimento em licitações não têm qualquer sustentação fática”. E que o prefeito provará isso com documentos e “com muita facilidade”.
Segundo as afirmações da prefeitura, Adail Filho já esperava essa situação por parte dos adversários político com a aproximação das eleições de 2020 e com sua gestão sendo bem avaliada pela população.
