O Corpo de Bombeiros do Amazonas controlou, por volta da meia-noite de quinta-feira (20/02), o incêndio ocorrido em um estabelecimento comercial no bairro da Compensa, zona oeste de Manaus. Os bombeiros ainda trabalham no rescaldo da área e há risco de desmoronamento do prédio. Uma igreja, escola e residências precisaram ser interditadas.
As chamas no estabelecimento, que funciona como um depósito de colchões, localizado na rua Amazonas, bairro Compensa, começaram por volta das 20h40. Mais de 15 viaturas do Corpo de Bombeiros foram empregadas, com ação por duas vias de acesso. Mais de 100 mil litros de água foram utilizados pela corporação. A Secretaria de Estado de Saúde (Susam) fez um levantamento nas unidades de saúde da capital e não registrou a entrada de nenhuma vítima de queimadura ou intoxicação por fumaça.
O incêndio foi considerado de grandes proporções. Os bombeiros encontraram dificuldade de acesso ao local do incêndio e tiveram que fazer aberturas na parede do prédio pela rua Amazonas e pela travessa Teófilo Dias. Após a liberação do espaço pelo Corpo de Bombeiros, a perícia deve começar os trabalhos para buscar as causas do incêndio.
Defesa Civil do Amazonas através do Subcomando de Ações de Defesa Civil (Subcomadec) está com agentes no local do incêndio para inspeções e vistorias. De acordo com técnicos do órgão, o prédio sinistrado está com estrutura comprometida com risco iminente de desmoronamento. A queda de uma das paredes laterais resultou na interdição da Paróquia Cristo Libertador, que foi atingida parcialmente.
Outras nove residências no entorno foram desocupadas, e as famílias foram retiradas do local. As secretarias de Justiça, Direitos Humanos e Cidadania (Sejusc), de Assistência Social (Seas) e a Casa Civil prestam atendimento aos moradores desde o início do incêndio. Técnicos das instituições realizam atendimentos sociais, psicológicos e o cadastramento das famílias vizinhas que possam estar em situação de vulnerabilidade social.
O prédio comercial também fica nas proximidades da Escola Estadual Padre Pedro Gislandy. Apesar do fogo não ter atingido a unidade escolar, houve interdição por conta da caixa d’água do prédio sinistrado. As aulas na unidade estão suspensas, e uma equipe de engenharia da Secretaria de Educação e Desporto deve realizar uma visita ao prédio ainda nesta sexta-feira (21/02).
